Integrated 3D Live Mapping from FATOS is one such example. Innovative technologies applied to Logistics exemplified by BaseTrack that create "Virtual Rails" for Intelligent ADAS and Autonomous Driving which provides driving within a road lane without visual recognition of the road marking, while reaching speeds up to 130 km/h in adverse weather conditions (rain, snow, etc.) and this is achieved by receiving a high-precision navigational connected data. This is highly applicable in long mile transportation across highways and defined tough terrains conditions; hence reaping costs benefits and deployment efficiency. Emerging technologies such as FlowX helps transport authorities react quicker to traffic incidents in network traffic management.
FlowX system extracts transport data from existing CCTV cameras leveraging on existing infrastructure and avoiding costly additional on-street hardware. With the extracted data from existing CCTV cameras to detect traffic incidents, it allows traffic operators to prevent the build-up of congestion with real-time monitoring. Tallinn city admin acquired and managed a full city scale mobile mapping input—panoramic images and 3D point cloud data and use it as an input for warranty works proof; these invoicing claims are now settled fast and correctly. Since the optimization has been done for this solution, it only costs a full Tallinn city 10,000 euros per year to cover the full road network of 1000 km in 2 weeks’ time-frame.
This is a departure from the usual Digital Twin 3D data that takes a longer time and more financial resources to produce. The Estonian cities have stepped up by using the same input datasets in various use cases—registering data management (road, cadastre, traffic, construction etc), city planning, construction planning and evaluation, traffic information visualization as an input platform. Estonia has also implemented this same solution to the entire country of 42,000 km of road networks and various sectors. This will lead to expedited private sector use usage since all the geo-spatial data will be connected through a unified platform that brings many new business opportunities for companies, startups and local authorities/administrations. In a Connecting Mobility: users are key to the success of smart mobility solutions. Transformation can soon extend to healthcare mobility.
